The name of Eskipazar in ancient times is referred to as Hadrianopolis. There are the ruins of the ancient city of Hadrianopolisnear the present Eskipazar. These include cellars, palace staircase ruins and bath ruins. In 63 BC, the Romans dominated here. Hadrianapolis is one of the important centres in the period of Paflagonians and Romans.
