It is accepted that the first people living in Eskipazarwere Proto-Hittites . Proto-Hittites, one of the tribes of Asia Min or, came to Anatoliaand started the first political life in Anatolia by establishing city kingdoms at the foot of Hisarlar . The name of Eskipazar in ancient times is referred to as Hadrianopolis. There are the ruins of the ancient city of Hadrianopolisnear the present Eskipazar. These include cellars, palace staircase ruins and bath ruins. In 63 BC, the Romans dominated here. Hadrianapolis is one of the important centres in the period of Paflagonians and Romans.
