Sakıp Sabancı Museum
Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum is located in Emirgan, one of the oldest settlements in Boğaziçi in Istanbul. Villa, the main building of the museum, was built in 1927 by Prince Mehmed Ali Hasan of the Egyptian Hidiv family and was built by Italian architect Edouard de Nari and used as a summer residence by different members of the Hıdiv family and served as a monteneous ambassador for a short time. The mansion, which was purchased by the Princess Iffet of the Hidiv family by Adanalı Industrialist Hacı Ömer Sabancı in 1951, started to be referred to as the "Equestrian Pavilion" of the French sculptor Louis Doumas, who was purchased and placed in front of him in the same year. The second horse statue in the land of Equestrian Pavilion is the breakdown of one of the 4 horses placed in front of the Venice San Marco Church by being taken from the Istanbul Sultanahmet Square, which was looted by the Crusader forces during the 4th Crusade in 1204.
After the death of Hacı Ömer Sabancı in 1966, Sakıp Sabancı, who was the eldest of the family, started to be used as a residence as a residence. what has been allocated. The exhibition areas of the Museum, which was opened to visitors in 2002 with the addition of a modern gallery, expanded with the regulation in 2005 and gained international standards at the technical level.
