Tiled Mansion

The two -storey opposite the Archaeological Museum is the first building built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet at Topkapı Palace. The Köşk, built by Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1472, is one of the oldest Ottoman civil architecture examples in Istanbul. It was used as a Museum-i Humayun (Imperial Museum) between the years l875-1891. It was opened to visitors under the name of Fatih Museum, where Turkish and Islamic artifacts were exhibited in 1953, and in 1981 he was transferred to Istanbul Archaeological Museums.
